Holy Basil is a staple in our home!
Why is this such an important herb for us?
There are several reasons!
1. Regulates hormones and mental health
2. Promotes mental clarity
3. Anti-inflammatory
4. Regulates moods
5. Supports insulin resistance
Holy Basil aka Tulsi is an adaptogenic herb. Over time, it helps to relax the nervous system and thereby regulating depression and anxiety.
Holy Basil has been clinically proven to lower cortisol levels which can result in improved moods, better sleep, improved digestion and many other beneficial effects!
Holy Basil may help with mental clarity. It is great for those with ADD/ADHD and can be used alongside medication without negative interactions.
This Queen of Herbs may also help regulate blood sugar throughout the day so there is less fatigue and brain fog experienced. It is also known as a nervine - meaning it helps calm the nerves and decrease mental stress and has been used by many to ease inflammation and reduce arthritis flare-ups.
Personally, I’ve found that the effects of other natural remedies for anxiety and depression are heightened when taken alongside Holy Basil.
