Iodine is a crucial element to consume in sufficient quantities. It can be extremely difficult to get enough in a normal diet, however. In order to offset all the fluorine and bromine we are bombarded with daily, higher than normal amounts may be needed

You can buy 2% just about anywhere, but once you know Why iodine is so crucial, how it works and the amount our bodies require, you might rethink that small dose!

I'm sure everyone is aware that iodine is required for our thyroid glands to function properly.
"But I get iodised salt - so I'm covered!"
First...don't ever touch table salt. Please. It's pure poison ☠️ 😷's actually a marketing gimmick at best! The amount of iodine in salt is a tiny fraction of what you actually need...and that's when they add it to the salt. By the time it reaches your dinner plate and you consume it, there's as good as none left.

Flour was always iodised until it was decided that bromine is cheaper and so it was switched out. But you know the problem with that? Well, bromine and iodine compete for the same spot but bromine wins every time because it's stronger (it's more electronegative and thus more reactive).
The reason this is a problem is that bromine is strongly carcinogenic and any more than a tiny amount is just bad news for overall health. Bromine has certain benefits but we are unfortunately exposed to a massive over-abundance anyway so it's good to avoid as much exposure as possible.
In order to displace all the bromine, we need to have a significant amount of iodine.
The same is true of the other halogens...fluorine (think: fluoride) and chlorine.

The RDA of iodine is a minuscule 150ug/day but, considering the perpetual assault our bodies endure with brominated flour-products, clothing, flooring and mattresses that off-gas for a decade+ and on and on and on...that RDA gets depleted very quickly.
In fact, some experts conclude that, if a person is in good health, they require only about 50mg for daily maintenance. But, for any more serious conditions, if there's hair loss, stubborn weight gain or retention, thyroid problems, hormone issues, etc then a higher amount of iodine may be required.

2% - 20% solutions available. 

Light will break down the product so it comes in a dark bottle. It's recommended you also keep it in a cool and dark place.

You might experience discomfort if you take it on an empty stomach and I do not recommend taking more than 2% directly unless it's in milk/with food.
You can also put it into capsules and take immediately.
If you do become sore, sit upright, drink some milk...and wait it out! It will pass after a few minutes but you won't make the same mistake twice!
